Detroit Apartment Rentals

Detroit is a city with lots of history and recently the entire region has been devastated with housing foreclosures and an automobile industry in termoil. What does this do for those seeking an apartment to rent? The good news is that much of the downtown area is affordable for young professionals and the outlying areas like Southfield, Auburn Hills, and Grosse Pointe have rental homes available for families that want that suburban living experience. Back to the downtown lifestyle. Loft living is more popular than ever and Detroit is loaded with great rental opportunities. Kale's Building Lofts on W. Adams Ave and Lofts of Merchant Row are two of the newer spots. Want to be near the University of Detroit Mercy, check out the Millender Center Apartments or the New Cadillac Square Building in the same area. In the Rivertown-Warehouse District, the River Place Apartments are a great option. We have listed several complexes in cities like Dearborn, Madison Heights, and Livonia. What are rents? At the Millender (downtown) the rents for a 1 bedroom apartment are $1150 and up and the 2 bedroom units start at $1500. If you get out towards Dearborn, communities like Springwells Park Apartments have studios, 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units ranging from $640 up to $1300.

Here are some more resources to aid in your apartment shopping:

Homes for Rent in Detroit, MI:

How about home rentals? You will find very fair rents in most of Detroit and even in the surrounding towns. We suggest checking with multiple property management companies to see what availability they have in their inventory of homes. The great thing about property management groups is that they often list dozens of homes for rent and you can quickly find out about pricing, location, and amenities in one single spot. Garner Properties and Management has several properties in Detroit that rent for about $850 to $950 for 3 and 4 bedroom rental houses. Head out towards Southfield and find a 2 bedroom condo with 2 baths that goes for $1250/month. Richter & Associates has over 12 rental properties in their current inventory with a nice house in Madison Heights that rents for about $1800/month for a 4 bedroom. They also have some in Livonia, Farmington Hills, and Milford. Always do your research and ask questions about things like lease terms, floorplans, parking, commuting distance to Detroit, how are repairs handled, etc.
