Abilene Apartment/Condo/Townhome RentalsSearching for an apartment in Abilene, Texas? Whether you are working or going to school (McMurry University and Hardin-Simmons University are in town), having a place to call home is important. We researched the entire area and checked online to see which apartments get the best reviews from families, college students, and young professionals. I-20 cuts through the center of Abilene. North Abilene includes places like the Cobb Park Area, Abilene Heights, Sears Park, North College, and Buck Creek. Head south of I-20 and you'll find Elmwood, River Oaks, Lytle, and Red Bud. Curry Junction Apartments are located southwest of the main downtown area and get above average reviews from renters. Choose from 5 floor plans ranging from 600 sq. feet up to 1057 square ft. Go from 1 bedroom 1 bath to 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Some are owned and rented with property management firms while others are stand alone apartment communities. Finding the best rental can be a challenge - many rentals don't have their own websites, so you end up finding rental finding "services" that want your name, phone number, and email before they will show you any listings. We think a better approach is to check out some actual rental websites - get an idea about rental rates, sizes, etc. Maybe call/email one or two rentals to get a feel for vacancy rates and availability. Rental rates are about $500 for a 1 bedroom, $600-$800 for 2 bedroom units, and $700 - $1000 for 3 bedroom apartments. We have also found that Craigslist is an excellent source for subleasing apartments or finding duplexes and rental homes.
